| In March, 1981, Rick Haskett and Joe Martin formed a partnership and started Locksmith Ltd. Rick has previously worked 6 years in the locksmith industry at Baldwin Key and Bicycle Shop where he had met Joe, a retired air traffic controller and small business entrepreneur. In 1983, Locksmiths Ltd. purchased AAA Locksmiths, from Bruce Barfield and changed the company's name to AAA Locksmiths Ltd. From 1981 to 1985 AAA Locksmith remained relatively unchanged operating as a two man shop with Joe managing the shop and business details, while Rick provided sales and service "in the field".  In 1985, Joe offered Rick the opportunity to 'buy out" his portion of the business. Rick brought his wife into the business to help operate the shop and to handle the clerical responsibilities. Through the LORD's blessings and hard work, the business started to grow. By 1986 we had to hire our first employee, Jerry Pittman (now deceased). AAA Locksmiths Ltd continued to grow in size and reputation for quality services. In 1987, it became a pivotal year for the company, George Cote and Martha Murdoch, owners of Lockmasters Inc, (the largest locksmith company in the upstate at the time) approached us about buying their company. The purchase of Lockmasters Inc, and the generous assistance from George and Martha allowed AAA Locksmiths Ltd, to become the premier locksmith company in the upstate of South Carolina. In 1994, After numerous requests by our clientele to provide them with electronic security as well as physical security, we created an electronics division. We changed our company name to AAA Locksmith and Alarm Company (Inc), in order to reflect all the services, we now provide to our customers. As the industry's leader in South Carolina, we promise our customers to seek out, apply for, obtain, and stay up to date on the latest technology, products, procedures and information as it becomes available so that we may continue to provide our customers the very best security and service available.
